Curriculum

The course of study is oriented towards the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year-10) and the Indian School Certificate (Year-12) Examination. The medium of instruction is English, the International language of today. Hindi, however has vital role in the curriculum and is taught in classes. The Education at De Nobili School is liberal and universal; but at the same time it is Indian and firmly rooted in Indian history and tradition. The curriculum therefore, embraces English (Literature and Composition) the vernacular and classical languages (Hindi, Sanskrit, and Bengali) History, Geography, Social Studies, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The subject of value Education is given prime importance in our school.

Education at De Nobili is conducted in the English language and a high standard of English is required for the success in ICSE and ISC. Therefore, the use of English in the school campus is compulsory.

The school authorities hold that regular attendance, alertness in class, performance of regular class work and revision and co-operation of parents are sufficient to make progress.

In this connection it is to be noted that private tuition is regarded as unnecessary and to great extent harmful, to De Nobili students. Parents are advised not to waste money on tuitions, which are of questionable value.
